What is Purlins?
Purlins carry the roof deck or sheathing loads and are supported by large rafters and/or building walls, steel beams, etc. In comparison to closely spaced rafters, the use of purlins is common in pre-engineered metal construction systems and both the ancient post-and-beam and newer pole construction methodologies for frame construction.
Purlins pass roof loads to the major structural elements supporting the roof; the form and arrangement of purlins is a design factor that depends on the instance of roof loads as well as the limiting sheeting lengths to use. In the final analysis, local building codes should always be understood and implemented in the design of a concrete roof structure.
Z purlin is stronger than C purlin and is mostly used together at joints and overlaps. Z purlins or zed purlins are horizontal beams that are built to shape a building shell structure’s roof and wall joists. They sit between the roofing sheets and the building, acting as sheet support to ensure that it is firmly attached and secure in place. Due to its relatively high flexibility and lightweight properties Z purlins are most commonly used in agricultural and industrial buildings which make them easily adapted for use in a variety of different sizes.
Standard Purlin specifications
The Z Purlin, a type of purlin, has the following size specifications. The value of Size a ranges from 120 to 300 mm, Size b from 30 to 80 mm, Size c from 10 to 20 mm, and Size t (thickness) from 1.5 to 3.0 mm.
The details of the machine
The Standard - CZ purlin machine has a specification of 13 m x 1.5 m x 1.7 m, weighs about 13 - 14 tons, and has a total power of 32.5 KW. Its purlin size adjustment is semi - automatic, featuring an arc frame and chain - driven transmission. It runs at a speed of 20m/min and is equipped with 5 pre - punching units. Both the decoiler and the receiving operation are manual. This machine is priced at USD 45000.
The 3 - ton Manual Decoiler is of a passive work type. It has a load capacity of 3 tons, with the coil inner diameter ranging from Φ450 - 550mm, the coil outer diameter being less than or equal to 1500mm, and the width of the coil being less than or equal to 500 mm. The tightening method of this decoiler is manual.
Feeding and leveling
The feeding and leveling part consists of 1 set of feeding rollers and 2 sets of guiding rollers. There are 3 upper and 4 lower leveling rollers, with a roller diameter of 75 mm. The material of the rollers is Cr15.
Main forming part
The Main Machine comes with the following parameters. It has 16 rows of roller stations. The roller shaft measures 80 mm in diameter, with the shaft material being 45# steel and the roller shaft material having undergone Cr15 quench treatment. The motor power is 15 KW. The table frame is made of 400 U beam, and the transmission is achieved through chains. The machine features an arc frame structure and has a forming speed of 20m/min.
Cutting system
The hydraulic cutting system is designed with a cutting type where it performs cutting after the forming process has stopped. It is powered by hydraulic power, with a power output of 5.5 KW. The blade of this system is made of Cr12mov material which has been subjected to quench treatment. For length measurement, it uses an automatic encoder measuring method, and the length tolerance is set at ±1.0mm for a length of 3000mm.
The machine offers several configuration options with corresponding price differences. Option 1 is adding holes punching per unit, which will cost an additional USD 1500. Option 2 involves replacing the manual decoiler with a 3 Ton hydraulic decoiler, resulting in an extra charge of USD 3800. Option 3 is substituting chains with gear boxes, and this change will increase the price by USD 6000. Option 4 is using a servo motor instead of a normal motor, adding USD 4000 to the cost. Option 5 is adding more plate cutting before the leveling process, which comes with an extra cost of USD 1500. Finally, Option 7 is a fully automatic package and receiving table, and choosing this option will make the price increase by USD 14000.
